ColAAb x Ru Xiao Fan at « Murano Illumina il Mondo »
A chandelier that speaks of cages, choices and flight.

For the 2025 edition of Murano Illumina il Mondo, ColAAb is proud to unveil Inside / Outside, a monumental glass installation by RU Xiao Fan.

Suspended under the vaults of Piazza San Marco, this sculptural Murano chandelier gives form to a universal tension: the comfort of safety versus the risk of freedom.

Created in collaboration with Venetian glassmasters Cristiano & Ivano Ferro and Maestro Gianni Seguso, and shaped through the visionary digital expertise of Matteo Silverio (architect, researcher and specialist in computational design), Inside / Outside brings together centuries of tradition and cutting-edge innovation.

The piece features 25 birds, some encaged, others free, composing a luminous ballet of fragility and force.

More than a sculpture, Inside / Outside is a question suspended in light, 90 cm high, 175 cm wide. Its presence marks a dialogue between East and West, craft and concept, instinct and precision.
